Fire crews rescue two trapped after A38 road collision

The A38 at Haldon Hill in Kennford, which was partially blocked with queueing traffic at Splatford Split because of an earlier accident has now cleared. 

The Fire Service reported receiving calls requesting its attendance for a Road Traffic Collision in the above area. Two Fire appliances from Danes castle and One Fire appliance from Middlemoor attended the incident.

On arrival, Fire crews confirmed two vehicles were involved in the collision with two persons trapped within the vehicles.

A spokesperson from the Fire service said "Crews got to work to help release the casualties using Hydraulic Cutting Equipment, a Hose Reel and a Dry Powder Extinguisher. The casualties are now released and in the hands of the Ambulance Service.
