Homeless benefit again from Exeter’s abandoned meeting
Snow on the racecourse has forced Exeter to abandon its meeting tomorrow – the third fixture to be lost to the weather this season.
But the homeless and vulnerable in Exeter have benefitted with the racecourse donating its unwanted sandwiches to St Petroc’s in Exeter.
It’s the second time in two months that St Petroc’s has been the recipient of free handouts.
General manager Tim Darby said: “It’s a shame that we’ve lost a third meeting, but there’s nothing we can do, as there’s snow on the course with more snow forecast. But at least the pre-prepared hasn’t gone to waste.
“We’re now looking forward to our popular Two for £10 raceday on Sunday, February 10. Fingers crossed the weather will start being a little kinder by then.”
