Last few places available at Working Together event
The deadline to book places for East Devon District Council's free annnual event for voluntary organisations and community groups, Working Together, is 20 September.
The conference is being held on Friday 11 October and runs from 9.30am to 2.30pm at EDDC’s Knowle offices in Sidmouth. Representatives of voluntary organisations, community groups and Town and Parish Councils are welcome to come along. The gathering aims to bring local agencies together to improve communications between the voluntary and statutory sectors.
During the day, attendees will find out more about significant family, health and well-being reforms that are happening nationwide, with particular reference to East Devon.
Guest speakers include the Chair of Devon County Council's Health and Wellbeing Board, Cllr Andrea Davis. Delegates will also have an opportunity to find out information useful for making grant applications and hear from a local community organisation that works closely with local families.
Foodbanks
People are also invited to bring with them items of non-perishable food such as packets of dried food or tinned goods, which will be collected by local foodbanks and later handed out to needy families in the area.
Invitations for the event have already been sent to groups that attended last year, but there are still a few places left. Places are limited to one per organisation/group and must be booked in advance.
To find out more or book a place please call Jamie Buckley, Community Engagement and Funding Officer 01395 517569 with name and contact details and the name of the organisation being represented before Friday 20 September 2013.
