Meet cats in need of homes at charity event
Cat fans in Exeter will have a chance to meet some fantastic felines in need of new homes at a special cat rehoming event being held by Blue Cross pet charity on Saturday 17th October at the Isca Centre in Whipton, from noon until 3pm.
Visitors to the Blue Cross event will be able to find out more about the charity’s pet rehoming centres and pet fostering schemes in Devon. Anyone who is on the lookout for a new pet will also be able to find out about the cats currently being cared for by the charity. Some of the homeless moggies will even be there on the day to meet potential new owners and every visitor to the event will receive a goody bag and refreshments will be available.
Marianne Willsher, Regional Fostering Manager for Blue Cross, said: “Blue Cross has so many great pets in the Devon area looking for homes. We’d love as many people as possible to come along to our event to find out about the fantastic work our teams are doing. If you love pets, there are lots of ways you can get involved - by becoming a volunteer fosterer or fundraiser or even offering a happy new home to one of our lovely cats!”
Wallace is one of the cats who will be at the event, a handsome two-year-old boy who loves fuss and attention and will happily curl up on a lap for a nice ear rub. Wallace is looking for a new home where he has the opportunity to go and explore outside. He can also be easily entertained as he really enjoys chasing balls of paper. Wallace would be happy to live with children.
Blue Cross finds happy new homes for more than 8,000 pets every year through its network of rehoming centres and fostering schemes, including centres in Torbay and Tiverton and fostering schemes at South Devon College in Paignton. A new Blue Cross fostering scheme at Petroc College in Barnstaple will be opening in January 2016.
