More top awards for St Sidwell’s Point

Exeter’s state-of-the-art new leisure centre St Sidwell’s Point has won two more prestigious awards.

The striking Passivhaus building won the national RICS award for Environmental Impact at a prestigious ceremony in London.

On the same day, it won best Civic Development at the Exeter Property Awards.

Judges said: “At the forefront of Exeter’s surge towards sustainability, St Sidwells Point is designed for 2080 climate predictions and is notably energy efficient. Expert use of technology to futureproof the project.”

Exeter City Council Leader Phil Bialyk said: “St Sidwell’s Point has won a series of awards since it opened, which is great news and recognition of all the hard work and careful planning that went into the building.

“This really is a top quality facility which is serving the public in the heart of the city centre and is proving hugely popular with users.”

The Building Greater Exeter partnership, which includes the City Council, was also a winner at the Exeter Property Awards, in the Suppliers and Services Category.

The judges said: “Perfect advocates for the built environment with its Build a Better Tomorrow campaign reaching millions of views whilst engaging countless schools with courses to inspire the next generation.”
