A new website has been launched to help residents, motorists and businesses to find out more about the South Devon Link Road.

Devon County Council, Torbay Council and contractor Galliford Try have unveiled the new website www.southdevonlinkroad.co.uk - it has a fresh new look and includes the latest updates, maps, news and useful documents.

It also includes images of how construction is progressing and a timeline of activity.

Website users can also sign up to the mailing list online, to receive an electronic monthly update direct to their inbox.

Councillor Andrew Leadbetter, Cabinet Member for Economy and Growth at Devon County Council, said: “The construction of the South Devon Link Road is a major and complex infrastructure project, with many elements, components and milestones.

“We are committed to maintaining regular communication with residents, motorists and businesses throughout the project, keeping them informed about what’s happening and what’s being planned - this new website will help to achieve that aim.”

Gordon Oliver, Mayor of Torbay, said: “The fresh new website makes it easier for people to find the information they need - we are encouraging people to sign up for the newsletter, so that they stay in touch with developments throughout the life of the project.”

Jim Watson, Project Director at Galliford Try, said: “We hope that users of the new website find the information helpful – we will be updating it regularly, posting alerts and news items when appropriate.”

The website was designed and built by Cosmic Ethical IT, based in Honiton.
