Online gambling and the UK economy moving

While 2016 may have been a tough year, there is some trepidation going into 2017 and what the future will bring for the UK economy. With Brexit looming in March, or whenever the government will start it, there are many questions as to how the economy will handle the changes.

With UK online Casino Cruise and other betting sites are contributing greatly to the UK economy it is fair to say that this is one industry that will continue to thrive. With projections saying that online gambling could be worth over £10 billion by 2020, it is obvious that a ‘bad’ Brexit may hit this, but then, again will it?

Ever since the 2014 UK Gambling Bill brought a big transition to the industry, there has been a rise in sites that offer this form of gaming. It has never been easier to gamble, but do it in a responsible way, and we tend to see no end of advertisements offering new services to those who like this form of gaming.

The fact is, even when times are hard, gambling tends to remain a popular form of entertainment. It may be that Brexit goes well, and everything is fine, but even if it hits our pockets hard, it would be fair to say that online gaming will still be as popular as ever.

What will be interesting to see is how the differing laws with Europe and the UK will force changes to the industry. It may be that the UK looks to be less restrictive when the extra enforcement of Europe is removed. What will be important of course is to safeguard the player, while still keeping a good source of income from the games that people are playing.

It is fair to say though that there will be some complicated scenarios coming in the future, especially if the gambling sites are based in Europe. If changes in taxes are put in place by the UK government, it may mean that there is more a focus on the gambling companies that are based within the UK itself. This of course may also complicate things further, but until the changes of Brexit are felt, it will be hard to know just how things will be changed.

What we do know though is that there are plenty of people who love to play games online, and love to bet on the big football games, horse racing, and many other sports.
