Just over a year after opening, Tickety-Boo in Ottery St Mary has reached the finals of the prestigious Devon Tourism Awards.

The awards attracted 205 entries with 76 finalists with Tickety-Boo in the final three of the Café / Tearoom of the Year category.

Home-cooked food, local sourcing and value-for-money have combined to make the café a popular choice not just for local people but visitors to East Devon.

Tickety-Boo’s bespoke play kingdom gives children the opportunity for rainy-day play, with affordable menu options tailored around smaller appetites making the coffee shop appealing for families.

Owner Stuart Phillips, who came up with the idea for Tickety-Boo after his own young children said they wanted something for families in the town, said: “It was a real thrill to learn that we had made the shortlist. It all comes down to having a real passion for the business.

“Dave, Zoe and the team work incredibly hard to provide great food and drink and really high levels of customer satisfaction. We’re pleased to fly the flag for East Devon and Ottery St Mary in these awards.”

The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony in the Guildhall in Plymouth on November 23.
