Outdoor birthday celebration for Gill
Gill Fisher celebrated her birthday with her lovely family in our lovely garden!
The family borrowed matches to light Gill’s birthday cake, hung balloons from trees and set up a party table in the hospice garden. But the fun didn’t stop there; the new Hospiscare Choir heard about the celebrations and came out into the garden to sing Happy Birthday to a thrilled Gill!
Our staff here at Hospiscare, who run the hospice in Exeter’s Dryden Road, were delighted to see the party. “It was so lovely seeing the family having fun in the garden and these pictures really sum up Hospiscare.” said Hospiscare press officer Liz Straw.
”Gill came into our ward last week and after being cared for by our team of highly experienced consultants, doctors and nurses we’re hoping Gill can go home next week.
“We help improve the quality of people’s lives and most of the people who come into our ward are able to go home after specialist treatment for symptom and pain control.
“The hospice is a happy, relaxed place, where people smile and laugh, of course there is also sadness, but the atmosphere here is usually positive.”
Gill who lives in Exeter told us she is very grateful for “fantastic” Hospiscare staff. Members of her family echoed her enthusiasm about the great care she is receiving, saying her every need was met and more. They didn’t even need to ring a bell for help as staff were there instantly and nothing was too much trouble for Hospiscare staff.
Thank you Fisher family for your lovely comments – we really appreciate them.
