An evening of indulgence at Otter Nurseries was held in aid of an emergency courier charity.

Around 80 guests came along to enjoy a glass of sparkling wine, three delicious mini desserts and a raft of other delights including mini massages by Butterflies Studio.

The evening was organised by the garden centre to raise funds for the Devon Freewheelers, which provides a free, out-of-hours service to the NHS delivering medical necessities including blood and tissue samples.

Otter Nurseries Marketing Manager, Sabine Taylor said: “Devon Freewheelers is our Charity of the Year for 2014 and we are well on our way to achieving our aim of helping them to buy a new bike.

“The team has told us that there is a pressing need for a bike dedicated to the Honiton area, so we are delighted that we are doing so well, with still more fundraising events to come in the run up to Christmas.”

Money raised at the pamper evening, through event ticketing and raffle sales on the night, boosts the running total of fundraising by the garden centre for the charity to around £4,500.

“We are very grateful for the support of all the therapists, demonstrators, musicians and our own staff who gave their time to make the evening a success,” added Sabine.

Otter Nurseries would particularly like to thank the teenage musicians and singers from the Teens Support for Hospiscare, who added tremendously to the entertaining atmosphere, impressing guests with their talent.
