Ping Pong Care Campaign launches in Exeter
The BRITDOC Foundation has launched the Ping Pong Care Campaign 2013, and we are bringing it to Exeter. The campaign encourages community centres, sheltered housing, residential villages, care homes and day centres to screen the feature documentary Ping Pong as an inspiration for more active lifestyles in our senior years.
This funny and emotional film follows eight octogenarians who may be old but still want gold, as they prepare for and compete in the over-80s World Table Tennis Championships in Inner Mongolia
The Ping Pong Care Campaign is running awareness events in selected locations across the UK. Here in Exeter, we’ve teamed up with Active Devon, Devon County Council, AgeUK and English Table Tennis Association to bring this inspirational campaign to the local area.
The FREE Exeter Awareness Event is on 23 July at Exeter University. The event will bring together care staff, health professionals, educational services, and sports development organisations, get people talking and collaborating and show how ping pong is perfect to help the health and well-being of older people.
The campaign aims to reach out to the community and encourage as many people as possible to watch the film, get inspired and play ping pong.
If you work with older people or would like to encourage well-being and active ageing in older people in Exeter and the surrounding are, then our Awareness Event is for you. Book your free place today!
