Pinhoe residents' meeting on new 120 home development tonight
Residents of Pinhoe are being invited to have their say on the proposed Home Farm development at Pinhoe Primary School tonight.
At the meeting residents can find out more about the plans and how to voice their concerns to the council.
“One concern is the extra pressure on traffic in the area.” said Graham Pike, a resident of Pinhoe and one of the organisers of tonight’s consultation.
“the developers said that there will be a number of footpaths and cycyle routes added but the majority of people will be driving on what is already a dangerous road.”
Residents have also raised concerns over the potential changes to the flood plain and land permission issues.
The developers, Waddeton Park LTD have put forward a proposal for 120 new houses around Home farm and Chruch Hill in Pinhoe on behalf of landowners the RB Nelder Trust.
Pinhoe currently has several ne w housing developments in the works.
Developers Redrow have begun work on 250 houses on Harrington Lane and been granted permission for 350 more houses on the former Pinhoe Quarry site.
Local Developers Barratt have also put in new plans for 170 new houses in between Monkerton and Pinhoe, the same site that was refused planning permission last year.
Junior Moka, Planning Manager at Barratt David Wilson Homes Exeter said: “We’ve listened to local residents and we’ve adjusted our old plans because we agree that public open space is very important. If Exeter City Council gives us permission, we will build new homes to meet local housing need, and we will retain and improve wildlife habitats and the public open space around Pin Brook, all of which will make this part of Exeter an even nicer place to live.”
The consultation on the Home Farm development is at 7pm tonight at Pinhoe Primary School.
