Police in Exeter are appealing for information following a serious injury road traffic collision.

At approx 5.45am on Wednesday 23 October, a female cyclist was found lying in the road at the junction of Honiton Road, and Lower Hill Barton Road, Exeter.

It is believed the cyclist had been riding along the offside pavement travelling towards the city centre.

The woman, aged in her early 20s, was found unconscious and lying in the centre of the junction. She was taken to the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital, Wonford, suffering from serious head injuries.

At the time the weather was poor with rain and wet roads.

Police are appealing for any witnesses that may have been travelling along that road at the time, especially the driver of a car seen exiting Lower Hill Barton Road and turning left towards Sowton at around the same time.

Anyone with any information is asked to call the police on 101 quoting police reference 68 231013.
