The Skin Angels visit Maynard School
The Skin Angels have recently visited Maynard school in Exeter, as part of their tour of schools and colleges in Devon.
Children and teachers received a presentation which included expert advice on year round sun protection and problematic skin conditions from the campaigning beauty therapists, who are based at Purity Boutique Spa on Cathedral Green.
The Skin Angels are on a mission to raise awareness of the importance of protecting skin from the sun, even during the autumn and winter months and aim to arm young people with knowledge about looking after their skin to prevent and treat skin conditions such as acne.
The team delivered an interactive and lively presentation which gave the youngsters the opportunity to ask lots of questions.
Skin Angels was set up in 2013 by Purity Boutique Spa owner Mariam Badavi, with the aim of sharing knowledge with people everywhere, enabling them to make informed choices about skin care and skin protection.
Mariam comments: “I am really passionate about educating people, both young and old, about skin protection. Skin Angels are on a mission to help reduce the risk of sun damage which can lead to premature ageing of the skin and more importantly skin cancer.”
Skin Angels will be visiting more schools and colleges throughout 2014 and will also be present at events including the Exeter Festival of South West Food and Drink.
The UK charity, Teenage Cancer Trust, is backing Mariam in her efforts.
