Sponsorship deal and birthday celebration for The Exeter Daily

Today marks two special events for The Exeter Daily.

For not only are we celebrating our first birthday, we are also announcing a sponsorship deal with the Exeter Phoenix.

From now on the venue's main performance area will be known as The Exeter Daily auditorium and all tickets will also display our logo.

The sponsorship deal is the first of its kind for the Phoenix.

Venue director Patrick Cunningham said: "It’s a really exciting partnership. The Exeter Daily is a great platform for local news and we’re delighted that they want to work with Exeter Phoenix. As a local charity we are always looking for ways that businesses can support us and sponsorship of this kind is something that can be beneficial for everyone involved."

Marc Astley, the Daily's editorial director, said, "Both the Exeter Phoenix and The Exeter Daily are at the heart of the community they serve. This sponsorship deal is a reflection of our joint commitment to collaborate with, and support, local people, local businesses and local organisations."

We have received several messages of support from contributors to the website.

Exeter City FC Football in the Community said: "We send everyone at The Exeter Daily our very best wishes for their first birthday. The website has given us a fabulous new outlet for information about what we do and is a vital part of our PR planning. We're also very grateful for the loan of the Exeter Daily gazebo at events, which keeps our Quick Feet game dry in the wet!"

Sophie O'Connor, Branch Operations Assistant for John Lewis Exeter wrote: "Happy 1st birthday and best wishes to all at The Exeter Daily from John Lewis Exeter. Thank you for all your support in this our first year too."

The Exeter Daily has been a firm supporter of Exeter Chamber, attending most of their highly informative and influential networking lunches. The online local news site has been a great addition to the media offering in the City, giving our members another platform to find and share information, news and promotions.”
