Tony Hogg to meet prospective MPs

Police and Crime Commissioner Tony Hogg has invited all those planning to stand in next year’s general election to a briefing where he will outline strategic policing matters across the peninsula.

The sessions, held in Bodmin and Launceston, will give Parliamentary candidates and existing MPs the opportunity to meet Mr Hogg to hear about the current and future challenges faced by the police service and the actions being taken to deliver his Police and Crime Plan.

Mr Hogg will also be discussing the roles and responsibilities he holds as Police and Crime Commissioner and speak about the range of activities performed by his office in Exeter. 

Those attending will be given ample opportunity to put questions to Mr Hogg.

“It is absolutely vital that anyone who aspires to represent the communities of Devon and Cornwall, irrespective of their political leanings, has a proper understanding of the challenges which face the police service in the coming years,” said Mr Hogg.

“These sessions will give those who are standing for election the chance to gain a full understanding of the current lie of the land in policing terms, we will outline the strides we have made in the last two years and the challenges we all face in the coming years.

“I look forward very much to meeting all those who have or are planning to stand in the next general election so that they can gain an idea of how we all may work together in the future.”

Session one: Monday 3 November, 10am-12noon, Bodmin Police Station,Tollgate Road,  Bodmin, Cornwall, PL31 2FJ.

Session two: Thursday 6 November, 2pm-4pm, Okehampton Police Station, Exeter Road, Devon, EX20 1NN.
