Vote For Your Future and Exeter College to host MP hustings ahead of general election
Students at Exeter College will have the chance to put their questions to Exeter's next MP on 19 November, thanks to a hustings organised by Vote For Your Future and Exeter College.
Ben Bradshaw, the Labour Party candidate for Bristol West, John Gray from the Conservative party and Joe Levy, representing the Green Party, are already confirmed to speak at the event.
After an introduction by a representative from the College's politics course, there will be a five minute speech by each candidate, followed by brief questions from the host. Students will then have 30 minutes to pose their questions to the candidates, with a 2 minute limit for answers.
Vote For Your Future director Lara Spirit said: "Young people in Exeter deserve to have a say over the future of the country, and this is their chance to find out what their next MP really stands for."
"It's so important that young people have the opportunity to hear from their representatives - that's why we're organising hustings at colleges and universities across the country ahead of the election on December 12."
Vote For Your Future is a non-partisan campaign aimed at making sure young people’s voices are heard through electoral registration and turnout. Since launching formally in September 2019, it has already reached millions of 18-25 year olds to ensure that our generation is ready to vote on December 12.
