WBW pay tribute to long serving solicitors

Leading South West law firm, WBW Solicitors LLP has paid tribute to two respected solicitors who have recently left the business.

Catherine Strigner and Michael Martin, who have both had long careers with the firm, left at the end of April.

Managing Partner, Steve Bulman, said: “I am sad to see Catherine and Michael leave, but I wish them the very best in the next chapter of their lives. They have both made a huge contribution towards the success of the firm and I am sure will be missed by colleagues, clients and friends.”

Notary Michael Martin, who is retiring as a Partner in the firm after 25 years, said: “I have very much enjoyed working at WBW. In particular I have enjoyed working with my clients; many of whom have become good friends.”

Michael, 64, joined WBW in Newton Abbot 25-years-ago before moving to their Exeter office in 1998 to specialise in property and small business purchases.

“I will be continuing my work as a notary; assisting people who are buying property abroad as I still have a keen interest in the law,” he said.

Family law solicitor, Catherine Strigner, also joined WBW in Newton Abbot in 1990, before moving to the Exeter office, is leaving the legal profession to pursue her interest in sailing and horse riding.

She said: “I am really going to miss the people I have worked with over the past 14 years. I have had an amazing time at the firm, they are a very supportive team who pride themselves on care and compassion for clients. It has been a true privilege being a part of the growth of WBW.”

Catherine started her career in Hampshire as legal secretary, moving on to become a legal clerk in London, whilst studying for a law degree in the evenings. She then trained in Guildford for her finals before moving to Devon to do her articles.
