YOUR Daily shortlisted for yet another award
The Exeter Daily has been shortlisted for a prestigious award for the second year in succession.
We are among five websites in the running for the title of Website of the Year in the EDF Energy South West Media Awards.
The other news sites shortlisted include the Plymouth Herald and the Bristol Evening Post.
Earlier this month the Daily was in the running for another award, The Best Use of Crowd Sourced Jornalism at the national Online Media Awards.
We were up against The Times, The Guardian and the BBC, which took the title on the night.
Daily Editorial director, Marc Astley, attributed our website's success to its users.
He said: "We are quite unlike any other newspaper website in that we rely on contrbutions from our users for the majority of the content.
"Something like 50 per cent of our articles are now crowd sourced and we are hoping to increase that significantly over the next year.
"If it wasn't for our users, we wouldn't have a website so any awards we are nominated for are very much down to them.
"And when you are being mentioned in the same breath as two national newspapers and the BBC, you know you are doing something right.
"I'd like to thank each and every person who takes time to write for the Daily. They've made the site what it is."
The South West Media Awards take place in Bristol on July 3.
