Businesses from around Exeter came together for an early morning networking breakfast to launch YMCA Exeter’s exciting 2017 campaign, Changing Rooms, Changing Lives.

This will see the renovation of the currently unhomely communal living space at its St David’s Hill accommodation centre, currently used by over 50 young people.

Ladies Do Lunch at Bridwell

Exeter-based Ladies Do Lunch enjoyed a memorable day out visiting Bridwell Estate at Uffculme. Bathed in late Autumn sunshine, the 100 acre estate never looked lovelier.

Members of Gilbert Stephens’ Young Professionals Network (YPN) recently hosted a tasty networking session at Exeter Cookery School, one of the region’s hottest new culinary destinations.

Having been handed three recipes by the school’s head chef and tutor, Jim Fisher, the group was divided into teams and then let loose on the kitchen to create three festive canapes. Despite the look of sheer panic on some of their faces, with a little encouragement everyone was soon prepping like pros and surprised themselves by creating a veritable feast for the evening.

Tags-On.com brought glitz, glamour and fizz a-plenty at their ‘Prep for the Party Season’ instalment of bi-annual fashion show series, Catwalk and Cocktails.

56 ladies were greeted with an arrival cocktail and an automatic entry to the raffle, the top prize of which was a £100 gift voucher to spend designer items at Tags-On.com. Guests had time before and after the fashion show to peruse a pop-up shop, have a do done by Richard Beaumont Salon’s stylists, and a makeover by Arbonne independent consultant, Emma Tellesy.

Quarterly event sees large gathering of Exeter’s thriving independent businesses

The third It Happened Here event ran on Thursday 29th September at Camper Coffee in the heart of McCoy's Arcade on Fore Street. Set up as a quarterly collective gathering, the evening was well attended by over 120 local and small business owners and aspiring individuals from Exeter and beyond. A range of businesses attended and the evening provided a great informal occasion for people to get to know each other.
