Exeter Chiefs name side for Ospreys friendly

Exeter Chiefs have named their side to face Welsh URC side, Ospreys, at Sandy Park on Saturday afternoon as the 2024/25 Cup Kit is due to be launched on gameday.

Rob Baxter has named his side for the second weekend of pre-season friendlies ahead of the new Gallagher Premiership season.

Following a double header against London Scottish and Cornish Pirates two weeks ago, it is the turn of the Ospreys to make the trip to Devon to take on Baxter’s side.

A front row of Scott Sio, Dan Frost and Ehren Painter prepare to face their Welsh counterparts in the scrum. Providing power from the second row will be Rusi Tuima and Richard Capstick.

The back row is a destructive one as Ethan Roots returns on the blindside flank with the day’s captain Jacques Vermeulen at openside and Greg Fisilau at eight.

Sam Maunder and Harvey Skinner line up at scrum half and fly half while Ben Hammersley remains in the centre combo for another week alongside Zack Wimbush.

Olly Woodburn and Paul Brown-Bampoe bring pace to the wings with Josh Hodge ready to attack from the full-back berth.

On the bench, club captain Jack Yeandle leads the front row replacements with Will Goodrick-Clarke and Josh Iosefa-Scott alongside him. An all-Irish duo of Jack Dunne and Martin Moloney provide cover to the second and back row.

In the backs, Tom Cairns and Will Haydon-Wood form a half-back pairing with Joe Hawkins ready to slot into the centre against his former side.
