Andy Murray battles through to his third Australian Open final

It was a tough battle, but Andy Murray has beaten Roger Federer in five sets to reach his third Australian Open and sixth Grand Slam final.

The Briton, seeded third, will face world number one Novak Djokovic in Sunday's final after beating Federer 6-4 6-7 (5-7) 6-3 6-7 (2-7) 6-2.

Murray dominated for most of the dramatic four-hour battle on Rod Laver Arena, despite a brilliant performance from Federer.

Sunday's final will be a rematch of the tie in New York, which the Scot won in five sets, and Murray predicts another physical encounter against the defending champion.

"He is an unbelievable mover so I will need to be ready for the pain, but I hope it is a painful match because that means it will be a good one," said Murray.
