Honiton Tae Kwon Do student Oliver Buss achieved his First Degree black belt after being put through his paces at the Headquarters of the Tae Kwon Do Association of Great Britain (TAGB) in Bristol.

Oliver had to show his skill in front of the TAGB board of grading examiners, all of whom are 8th Degree Black Belts with a wealth of knowledge and experience in the martial art.

The grading consists of traditional Tae Kwon Do moves including line work, patterns, set sparring and free sparring. In addition, students answer challenging questions chosen at random on the moves they know and the history of Tae Kwon Do.

Oliver has been training with Honiton Tae Kwon Do since 2013 and is a well-respected member of the club. His instructors and fellow club members could not be prouder of his achievement and are looking forward to watching him start his new Tae Kwon Do journey as a black belt.

Oliver’s son William Buss has recently started to follow in his dad’s footsteps and passed his first Tae Kwon Do grading with flying colours.

The club is currently offering a month’s free trial for new students. For more information call 07824 777216, email honitontkd@gmail.com or visit the Facebook page @honitontkd
