Gents Invitation Golf Competition
Fifty-eight pairs took part in the annual Gents Invitation this past Saturday.
With the forecast looking horrendous, and many local courses cancelling events, Exeter Golf and Country Club got lucky with the weather and managed to get all groups round, with only the last few pairs experiencing a lot of rain.
The course was presented in fantastic condition with great feedback from Members and Guest alike. The winning pair were Jack Jordan (Exeter GCC) and Paul Gidley (Downes Crediton) with 42 points, beating Peter Bennett and his guest, Peter Rowlands by a solitary point. Ray Jones and guest, Ben Maguire, were beaten on the back 9 in to third place, with last group of Darren Thorpe and guest, Graham Stone rounding out the prizes on 40 points. Nearest the Pin was won by Jimmy Giles from Honiton Golf Club and Longest Drive won by Iain Morris from Exeter GCC.
