Jump racing at Exeter bursts back into action
Jump racing is back at Exeter Racecourse on Thursday, 11th October and early birds can pre-book Grandstand and Paddock tickets for just £10 each until noon on the 11th September.
There’s a whole new look to greet racegoers following major rebuilding work during the summer. It’s been four months of restructuring, renovating and refurbishing, and when racegoers return they’ll find a new state or the art undercover outdoor area giving views of the paddock and racecourse.
The Owners and Trainers room has also been extended creating one of the smartest facilities in the country. It’s a huge space which is more than twice the original size, giving seating for 172 people in the process, this doubles up as a much needed area for team training, alongside, premium conference and event space.
General manager Jack Parkinson said: “It’s looking fantastic in readiness for the return of Jump racing. Our new Owners and Trainers facility is brilliant. It’s a vast, light, bright area with views right across the course, incorporating a new bar, separate area for food, seating and TV screens. It’s really quite special as we’ve added lots of character with the colours we’ve used, the paintings on the wall, and the naming of the specific areas.”
“We’ve also created much needed undercover space close to the paddock so that even during the bad winter weather, people will still have the sense that they are outdoors, but they’re dry!”
The Season Opener on 11th October kicks off 17 fixtures, when high octane action will be the order of the day on Haldon Hill.
“It’s always a great meeting with a real sense of celebration that we’re back racing,” said Jack, adding, “At the start of the season there is always so much to look forward to. Who will be crowned champion come the big spring festivals, and will we be seeing any at Exeter?
“We’re conscious of the fact that at Exeter the weather can sometimes take its toll, so with more undercover space it will be a case of wrapping up and joining us for what promises to be a great day at the races.”
