Monday was a good night for Exeter Golf and Country Club’s men's and ladies tennis first teams.

The men beat Kingsteignton 8-1 thanks to a fantastic 15-13 win in a championship tie-break for John Wilton-Davies and Tim Agutter, coming from 9-4 down to clinch the deciding set.

Exeter Golf and Country Club’s first pair Adam Tapp and James Temple also continued their record of not having dropped a set this season.

The Exeter Golf and Country Club ladies also had a successful evening.

They led Ottery St Mary 7-0 when bad weather intervened. Catherine Hayman and Anne Bulman completed 6-2, 6-1 and 6-1, 6-0 victories, whilst Phryne Tongé and Sue Roberts won their first match 6-4, 6-2 and were leading 6-1, 3-1 when rain stopped play.
