
'Inspirational' fundraiser dies aged 19
Stephen Sutton a 19-year-old who raised more than £3.2m for charity has died peacefully in his sleep, his mother said on his Facebook page.
The teenager from Burntwood in Staffordshire, was diagnosed with terminal cancer aged 15 but resolved to overcome his illnesss to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust .
In the months leading to his death Stephen's fundraising efforts acheived world wide recognition through social media.
In a post announcing Stephen's death his mother, Jane Sutton, said he was a "courageous, selfless, inspirational son".
Ms Sutton added: "The ongoing support and outpouring of love for Stephen will help greatly at this difficult time, in the same way as it helped Stephen throughout his journey."
Stephen was readmitted to hospital on Sunday after developing breathing difficulties caused by the re-growth of tumours.
