Bicton College is gearing up for its first ever music festival, taking place at the end of this month on Saturday 31 August. The college grounds will provide a beautiful backdrop for this intimate, one day event which will showcase the best of Devon’s musical talent, alongside some of the hottest up and coming acts from across the UK including:

Wille and the Bandits

Having toured their unique brand of roots rock with the likes of Deep Purple, Joe Bonamassa, The John Butler Trio and Status Quo Wille And The Bandits are now proudly touring their brand new, critically acclaimed album ‘Breakfree’. The band are famous for creating an astonishingly huge sound, incorporating eclectic grooves from World music to Heavy Rock, using bizarre instrumentation such as Tongue Drum, Djembe, Lap steel guitar and Double bass they push the boundaries of what is expected of a modern three piece.

Adam Isaac Band

Singer/songwriter/guitarist Adam Isaac has over 10 years of experience as a gigging musician and built a strong South West following in his earlier years. He has played many venues and festivals around the UK, supported widely renowned chart toppers ASH, Joss Stone, and Sandi Thom, has been named brand ambassador for British free sports lifestyle brand Animal and in 2012, made it to the quarter final stages of BBC’s The Voice UK. Adam will be rocking the Main Stage with full band at Bicton Fest 2013!

Joey The Lips

Devon’s most popular crowd pleasing high energy party band is set to wow their fans once again! Having performed for the stars and supported Will Young as well as appearing at countless festivals over the years, Joey The Lips will be bringing their sensational soul sound to Bicton Fest 2013!

These Reigning Days

This Teignmouth 3 piece is making big waves in the music world with their full throttle stadium sound. 2013 has seen them support Bon Jovi  in Milan to a crowd of 80,000 fans, and headline at the long running Cornish surfer/music fest, ‘Boardmasters’, alongside Tom Odell and The Joy Formidable.

Hunter & the Bear

In contrast, Hunter & the Bear are at the forefront of the UK’s alt-folk movement. The still unsigned trio recently found a wider audience for their emotionally charged music at this year’s Hard Rock Calling  festival, where they played the ‘Rising’ stage, as well as more intimate gigs at London venues such as Ronnie Scott’s and The Garage.

Paper Aeroplanes

Paper Aeroplanes play folkish indie with a pop sensibility. The Guardian newspaper described them as "disarming, breezy pop that's tinged with melancholy". The duo have featured on Bob Harris’ BBC Radio 2 show and have built up a loyal following in their native Wales and, increasingly, across the rest of the UK and into Europe. This band is well on their way to the top.

Kal Lavelle

Irish singer/songwriter Kal Lavelle’s career has been on the ascent ever since she supported Ed Sheeran on tour in 2011. Her confessional style has won her a legion of fans, including celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, who described her music as "exquisitely beautiful and raw.”  Kal is a regular on the festival circuit as well as receiving extensive airplay on 6Music and Radio 1Xtra.

The festival will also play host to a number of popular local bands including hip hop artists The Breaks Collective as well as local stars Sound of The Sirens, The Voice UK star’s Vince Freeman and Hannah Berney  and more!  All together 21 acts will take the stage across the day, with the first bands on from noon.

There will also be fairground rides, local trade stands and children’s entertainment.

Tickets are just £15 per adult and £10 per child. Overnight camping tickets are also available and a ‘glamping’ option is being provided by festival partners Bella Bode.
