Police appeal after 78-year-old seriously injured

Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses following a road traffic collision which left a 78 year old Copplestone woman with serious injuries.

 

A silver Volvo C70 and a red Nissan Almera were involved in the incident which happened at just before 5 p.m. on Tuesday 27 November 2012 on the A377 at Barnstaple Cross between Crediton and Copplestone. The road was closed for one and a half hours.

The driver of the Volvo was taken to the RD&E where she has been detained with serious injuries.

Officers are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or the events leading up to it, to come forward. They are particularly keen to speak to the driver of a Peugeot 306 which was being driven towards Barnstaple. Drivers who were travelling in the opposite direction may also have valuable information.
