X Factor star Shelley Smith to perform at Mama Stones
Shelley Smith is back in Exeter doing what she does best on Friday 11th April when she will perform at Mama Stones.
Shelley has proved she is more than just a flash in the pan since her stint on last year’s X Factor.
She’s appeared on TV shows, performed in and out of the UK and even bagged herself a two week trip to Florida. Shelley said:
“Anybody that says The X Factor doesn’t change your life is lying because it literally flipped my life upside down! It has been incredible, I think it is one of the biggest platforms you could ever have being on one of the biggest shows in the world. It has totally changed my life, I get recognised wherever I go and I am gigging all over the place. I’m mixing with the stars!”
Despite performing for crowds of hundreds of thousands during her appearance on The X Factor, Shelley has not lost her down to earth attitude and she cannot wait to give something back to all those who supported her from her hometown.
“I have been dying to do something in Exeter, a proper gig, since I came off the show. I was going to do something straight away but I just got taken away to different places!” She added:
“This show is for all the people that have supported me locally, all my family, my friends. It’s for all the people that have met me in the street and given me a hug and said congratulations. It’s for all the papers and the radio stations that have supported me and it’s just so nice to be able to do it.”
“This show is for everybody and something I’ve wanted to do for a long time. I really can’t wait and I hope people come down and support me because it’s going to be ace.”
Although Mama Stone’s audiences can expect Shelley’s bubbly Devonshire approach at the gig, she says they will experience a show ‘Nothing like the X Factor’, Shelley said:
“This is ME, doing my type of music, my way. It will be very funk and soul, with a bit of rock. It will be very different from anything people saw on the X Factor. It’s all my choice of songs and I can’t wait to do it.”
Shelley will be performing with a live band.
Tickets can be purchased for £5 on the door with the support act starting at 10pm. You can also pre-order your tickets by calling 01392 848485.
And if you can’t make the show on Friday 11th April, fear not because it won’t be your last opportunity to see Ms. Shelley Smith.
“I’ve got more TV work coming up, lots and lots of gigs and I’ve got a few ‘celebrity’ things lined up like premiers and parties which I find hilarious! I can’t believe I even get invited to these things but I’m so honored to do them. This year is booked up and I’m loving life!”
