The University of Exeter is in the top ten of 123 UK universities for 2015 in the influential Complete University Guide, published yesterday (Monday 12 May).

Exeter reinforced its position at 10th and increased its scores in the majority of measures. These included gains to the important categories of employability, student staff ratios and good degree achievement.

In the separate subject listings, Exeter appears in the top ten of 22 out of 36 subjects including Archaeology, Computer Science and Medical Technology. In addition, all of The Business School’s core subject groups – Accounting & Finance, Business & Management Studies and Economics - have been rated as some of the best in the UK.

Professor Sir Steve Smith, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Exeter said: “This is excellent news, and a testament to the enthusiasm, dedication and hard-work displayed by everyone associated with the University of Exeter, reinforcing our position as a rewarding environment in which students can truly flourish.”

Dr Bernard Kingston, principal author of The Guide, said: “The league tables, taken with the rankings for specific subjects, offer would-be students an accurate and independent guide to the UK university system.

“They should not be used in isolation but alongside all the other advice and information in the Guide. Its tables are recognised for their stability and consistency, and this year once again demonstrates this.”

Nationally the top ten universities are Cambridge, Oxford, the LSE, Imperial College London, Durham, St Andrews, University College London, Warwick, Bath, and Exete
