Sandy Park to launch revolutionary App for the Meetings Show

Sandy Park Conference and Events Centre, are to become one of the first companies in Europe to use a ‘Proximity App’ at an Exhibition Venue, when they launch at the Meetings Show between the July 8-10 in London's Olympia.

Tied in to their competition where visitors can win a VIP Rugby Weekend in Devon watching the Premiership Rugby Exeter Chiefs team, the innovative new App will allow anyone to enter, simply by being within a three-metre range of the Sandy Park stand at E33b.

The revolutionary App works with one of the latest Proximity Beacons to deliver messages to and from a Virtual Postbox on a mobile phone.

Speaking about the App, John Wood of Sandy Park said: “As one of the premier venues in the South West, we use technology all the time to help our clients, so we therefore thought it would be fitting for us to launch this ourselves at the Meetings Show."

Having been developed exclusively for Sandy Park, the App will activate whenever it is close to a ‘beacon’ - and can be used by exhibitors to know when their clients are nearby and communicate with them.

The new-look App has been developed by Exeter-based Rokk Media, whose chief executive Adam Stone, added: "We are really excited about working with Sandy Park for the upcoming Meetings Show, as it gives us an opportunity to showcase a product that we think will become the norm for advertisers to communicate with their customers at events.”
