The Day We Played Brazil Gala Evening
The final whistle will blow on The Day We Played Brazil this Saturday so make sure you don't score an own goal by missing out on this "must-watch musical" (Express and Echo). With standing ovations after every performance during the run, this special show is a sensational celebration of Exeter’s history and its surprising place in international football.
The last ever performance is part of a special Gala evening to welcome back Exeter City Football Club and its fans from their 2014 tour of Brazil. The evening includes drinks and delicious hot supper served in the University of Exeter's stunning forum accompanied by live music. The menu includes British classics plus a dessert.
After the performance a Charity Auction will take place in the auditorium with Lots including memorabilia from the show and Exeter City Football Club's recent tour to Brazil plus a commemorative album disc donated by Coldplay especially for the occasion.
Tickets for the Gala evening, which starts at 5:30pm, are £45.
For those who just want to see the show one last time at 7:30pm, tickets are £14.
“As a total non-football fan I was pleasantly surprised by my enjoyment of The Day We Played Brazil @ExeterNorthcott - a must see!” Tweet from @EllisVTaylor
The Day We Played Brazil celebrates the 100 year anniversary of the football match between Exeter City and the Brazil national team – the first-ever game played by Brazil. Based on the extraordinary true story of Exeter City FC’s tour to South America in 2014, this musical play, created by the cream of professional local theatre talent and performed by a cast of over 90 local people, tells the stories of the people of Exeter over the last 100 years: not just the players but their wives, sweethearts, and families back home. It’s a story of adventure, excitement, highs and lows on and off the pitch.
