The Coca-Cola Truck Tour kicked off the countdown to Christmas in Exeter today.

For millions of people, the sight of the famous Coca-Cola Christmas advertisement hails the beginning of the festive season.

And despite the wet weather, Bedford Square was transformed into a snowy winter wonderland from 1pm to 9pm complete with Christmas trees and festive helpers on hand to serve chilled Coca-Cola, Diet Coke and Coke Zero, and the Coca-Cola brass band will be leading a selection of seasonal carols in the magical setting.

Coca-Cola’s iconic vehicles are travelling the length and breadth of the UK and Ireland, giving thousands of fans the opportunity to take part in a unique Christmas experience; getting up close to the celebrated trucks in their hometown and chance to have their picture taken alongside the famous vehicles. The trucks are spreading seasonal cheer among thousands of people from now until Christmas day, as they make 64 stops at towns and cities, finishing in Brighton on 23rd December.

With a cult following across the globe, the Coca-Cola Christmas trucks first appeared on screens in November 1995 and since then have been a regular feature of Christmas TV schedules in over 100 different countries. Zoe Howorth, Marketing Director, Coca-Cola Great Britain explains:

"The festive season can mean different things for different people, but the ‘Holidays Are Coming’ advert is universally recognised as the unofficial countdown to Christmas. Millions of people have seen the adverts over the years and to be able to deliver that unique experience to people across the UK and Ireland once again this year is core to our values as a company. We’re looking forward to spreading the holiday spirit and kick-starting the celebrations across the country along the way.”
