Local MP for Exeter, Ben Bradshaw, recently took time out of his busy schedule to visit the new Exeter HQ of WiFi SPARK – an entrepreneurial business that specialises in managed wireless solutions – to discover its secret to success.

Following the official office opening, presided over by Lord Mayor Councillor Percy Prowse on Friday 17th October 2014, the WiFi SPARK team was keen to extend an invitation to Ben Bradshaw MP to visit their new hub in the heart of Exeter.

The new offices at Matford Business Park provide the WiFi SPARK team with a dedicated base from which to provide their unique wireless service solutions to their client accounts across healthcare, hospitality, retail, education, stadium, enterprise, outdoor and public sectors, and Ben Bradshaw received a glimpse of the day-to-day life of this fast-paced business.

Meeting with the management team and enjoying a full tour of the company’s office, sales, IT and technical support facilities, Ben Bradshaw was keen to find out how WiFi SPARK had risen to become the UK’s fastest growing wireless network solutions provider during the course of its 11 year history and why Exeter was chosen as its new home.

Commenting on the move, Matt O’Donovan, Managing Director of WiFi SPARK, said: “Our previous offices in Newton Abbot were where we grew our business but recently, we have come to outgrow the space we had.

“We chose to relocate to Exeter because we were excited by its vibrant business links and the opportunities it can offer our business and our team. Our relocation to bigger and better offices in Exeter marks a new chapter for WiFi SPARK and we were excited to be able to show Ben everything we have achieved – and what the future holds for the development of our business.”

Following his visit to WiFi SPARK, Ben Bradshaw MP, who previously held the position of Secretary of State at the Department for Culture, Media and Sport from June 2009 to May 2010, said: “I am always eager to learn about the successes of local businesses and to hear more about the role they play within the Exeter community.

“I enjoyed meeting with the WiFi SPARK team, all of whom were passionate about what they do and inspired by their new location. Matt told me of how the business started from a simple idea and to see what he and his team have achieved over the past 11 years was really impressive. I wish them the very best of luck for the future and as part of the wider Exeter business community.”

As part of the company’s expansion plan, WiFi SPARK is currently looking to grow its team further still with the current search for skilled developers to join their in-house development team and help further develop its WiFi Management Software. The role is varied and the work challenging so candidates need to be flexible, able to adapt existing skills to new situations and be quick to learn in a fast-moving environment.
