Staff at Otter Nurseries were delighted to learn that readers of Primary Times have voted the garden centre’s grotto as the best place to celebrate Christmas with Santa in Devon.

Over the last few months families from across Devon have been voting en mass in the magazine’s highly regarded Reader Star Awards, designed to recognise favourable, local family friendly places and people.

Otter Nurseries Managing Director, Jacqui Taylor said: “We are over the moon to be chosen by the readers of Primary Times as the winners in their new Christmas/Santa Event category.

“Each year we try to make our Santa’s Grotto experience better than ever, and for many families a visit to Santa at Otter Nurseries has become a tradition. Each year around 8,000 children meet Santa at Otter Nurseries and some of the parents now bringing their children used to come themselves when they were little!”

The grotto was chosen after parents of children aged 4 to 11 across Devon were asked to complete a survey that appeared in the magazine that is distributed to 90% of primary schools across Devon and taken home directly to mum and dad via the children. Many families also cast nominations online via the Primary Times website.

Linda Edwards, Publishing Editor at Primary Times Devon said: “We are absolutely thrilled with this year’s response to the Reader Star Award survey and I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who took part.”
