Insurance Institute of Exeter appoints new president

Mark Fowles, partner at law firm Browne Jacobson, has been appointed as the new President of the Insurance Institute of Exeter for 2015-16.

Mark succeeds Helen Jones, Senior Commercial Account Manager with Pavey Group in Exeter. Matthew Pyke, managing director of Lloyd and Whyte Ltd has been elected as Deputy President.

Mark is widely regarded as one of the leading personal injury defendant lawyers in the South-West, described by Legal 500 as an ‘acknowledged expert’ and ‘leading thinker’ in public sector insurance litigation. His team is nationally renowned for the handling of claims at all levels, specialising in employers’, public and local authority liability as well as occupational stress, significant Occupiers Liability claims, education claims, and claims against social services, amongst others. His clients include, amongst others, the NHS Litigation Authority, Devon County Council, and Gallagher Bassett.

Following his appointment, Mark Fowles, said:
