Barnstaple Mayor Presents RAF Community plate to A flt 22 Squadron Search & Rescue Team Chivenor

At the Annual Town Council Meeting on Monday 27 April 2015, the RAF Community Plate was presented to A Flt, 22 Squadron Search and Rescue Team Chivenor by the Mayor of Barnstaple, Cllr Mrs Val Elkins.

The Search and Rescue Team at RMB Chivenor were being recognised for their long service to the community over the years as fantastic ambassadors and for their dedication both to the people of North Devon and visitors alike.

The RAF Community Plate was presented to Barnstaple Town Council by RAF Chivenor in 1974, and has been awarded annually to an individual or group deemed by the Council to have made a contribution to the well being of the community of Barnstaple. In making his award, the Town Council is recording its appreciation to A Flight 22 Squadron Search and Rescue Team.

The service will soon be moving to an airbase in South Wales.
