The UK’s most enticing food and drink RoadShow is visiting Exeter next weekend as part of the 2015 Gastro Alfresco campaign!

The Gastro Alfresco summer RoadShow, along with nine of the country’s most beloved brands, is visiting Exeter Vale Tesco Extra on Saturday 27 June and  Sainsbury's Exeter, Alphington Road on Sunday 28 June. on their crusade to bring the UK off their sofa and into the sun. With the longer and warmer days, Gastro Alfresco addresses a real need for a healthier and more relaxed way of life; life alfresco.

For almost two decades, Gastro Alfresco has been campaigning for a brighter summer centred on great food & drink. This year the push is bigger than ever before, as the two RoadShow teams leave on a 90 store tour of the country, including your store!

From 11am until 7pm a team of chefs and Brand Believers will be serving up delicious summer dishes, giving gastro advice and handing out recipes.

Brands supporting the 2015 Gastro Alfresco campaign are; Activia – ‘Positively Yummy', Birra Moretti – ‘Discover the Authentic Taste of Italy’, Boursin – ‘Le Plaisir Intense’, Heinz – ‘Heinz Makes a BBQ Brilliant’, Mission Deli – ‘Wrap More of the Things You Like’, popchips – ‘all the flavour. half the fat.’, Sabra – ‘Houmous Like Never Before’, Shloer – ‘Here’s To Good Times’ and Clover Cooking Spray as a guest sponsor!

Gastro Alfresco not only aims to promote brilliant, progressive eating, but also educate the public. On the RoadShow, car park spaces will be transformed into a Mediterranean metropolis as customers are invited to try great food, whilst also picking up 1-on-1 alfresco tips with chefs. Last year’s survey of 1,000 consumers showed that 43% of 25 - 35 yr olds eat outside less that once a month in the summertime, with 25% of these saying they consider eating alfresco a treat reserved for special occasions.

Brian George, founder of Gastro Alfresco, says: “It’s incredible that people still need to be convinced that life alfresco is better! The food & drink that can be enjoyed whilst eating in the garden with friends and family is unparalleled, and the sun just seems to make it taste even better! There’s a reason countries along the Mediterranean have a reputation of being happier and more relaxed. Long summer days spent dining with friends might just be what the UK needs to become a more cohesive, relaxed place to live.”
