Fun in the sun!
Sunshine, palm trees, balmy temperatures. Aah the South of France.
Yes, finally Hospiscare has gone international!
Oh dear, sorry folks not quite. Businessman Neil Chapman was showing me glamorous pictures of the Cannes Tennis Tournament which he’s been organising for the past 10 years. It’s a bit of fun and raises funds for charities, like us.
Neil develops and leases outlet centres across Europe and every year he joins thousands of developers, retailers and agents who attend the MAPIC International Retail Property Market Conference in Cannes.
Last year’s tournament raised £500 for Hospiscare. Neil is a supporter as Hospiscare nurses are currently making home visits to Neil’s father-in–law.
Neil popped into the hospice to collect Hospiscare’s lovely new T shirts – yes, that bright orange has gone for good folks. We now have a tasteful shade of teal with our colourful tree logo. As we sat in the hospice coffee bar on a grey, gloomy November morning Neil showed us his pictures of last year’s tournament, the sun filled terraces, palm trees and suntanned players in shorts.
Neil hosts the tournament as well as providing a continental breakfast and says if anyone happens to be in Cannes during November 18-20 you’re very welcome to join him for breakfast. Any takers?
Thanks Neil, we really appreciate your fundraising efforts. It’s great to get international support!
So over to you Daily readers – where’s the most glamorous place you can organise a Hospiscare fundraiser?
