Fire crews tackle Broadclyst blaze

Fire crews from Exeter were called to tackle a blaze at a property in New Buidlings, Broadclsyt on Monday evening (22 February).

On arrival, crews confirmed the fire to be in the front room, and crews got to work using two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet, one safety jet and two dry powder extinguishers, together with a thermal image camera. 

Crews on scene assisted with first aid to a man suffering smoke inhalation while waiting for ambulance crews to arrive. 

At 10.10pm crews confirmed the fire was out and confirmed the fire was located within the ground floor lounge and involve fabric and electrical cables.
