Exeter charity CEDA is celebrating news of a £73,000 government grant with South West creative design agency Toucan.

Toucan, which made CEDA its charity of the year, has teamed up with the staff to provide on-going business support.

Josh Beadon, Toucan’s creative director, said they worked collaboratively to help the dedicated staff spend more of their time working with disabled adults and children and less time caught-up in back-room functions.

“We are delighted that CEDA has been successful in securing this vital funding,” added Josh. “In the next 12 months we look forward to coaching the team and providing them with the digital skills they need.”

The grant, announced by the Cabinet Office, aims to help smaller charities to implement organisational change and access professional advice that might currently be out of their reach.

Craig Bowden from CEDA said: “The support from another local business is hugely important and the advice and guidance from Toucan in the future will allow us to grow and showcase our charity in new ways.”

Toucan has already refreshed the charity’s website and is looking forward to helping them to develop their digital presence.

Craig added: “By enabling us to work with local businesses, it will help towards sustaining the growth and development of CEDA for years to come.”

Toucan works extensively in the not-for-profit sector for clients ranging from the Devon County Show to Exeter's Royal Albert Memorial Museum.
