Tesco team donates food for Exeter Blue Light Christmas Carol Service
The Tesco Extra Exeter Vale store has donated festive food for this year’s Exeter Blue Light Christmas Carol Service.
Led by the South Western Ambulance NHS Foundation Trust, the service took place at Exeter Cathedral on Monday 19th December and saw the South West emergency services, along with friends and family, come together to recognise the exceptional work they do.
Colleagues from the Tesco store, in the shopping centre on Russell Way, went down on the day to deliver the buffet food and stayed to partake in the celebratory service and to help hand out the refreshments after the service.
Jo Evans, Community Champion at the Tesco Extra Exeter Vale store, said: “The Blue Light Christmas Carol service is so important to the Exeter community, it really gives us a chance to formally say thank you to the emergency services for the support they give throughout the year. Having helped out last year by donating the buffet food, we are delighted to have been able to lend a helping hand again this year.”
Emma Mitchell, South Western Ambulance Service Events and Committee Coordinator and lead for the Exeter Blue Light Christmas Carol Service, said: “It’s been fantastic to get the community together to celebrate the incredible work of the emergency services across the South West. The carol service at Christmas has been a regular event in the calendar for several years now and we are delighted to have celebrated this year’s at Exeter Cathedral.
She continued: “Everyone really looks forward to the service, as it is an opportunity not just to celebrate but reflect on what has been achieved. The kind donation from Tesco allowed us to put on a fantastic spread of festive treats to aid the celebrations.”
