Free comedy night in Exeter
Begin 2017 with a laugh at the Comedy Avengers free New Year's Extravaganza show in Exeter.
After a successful first show in December the Comedy Avengers are back at The Hole in the Wall in Exeter for another evening of free live stand up comedy on Tuesday night.
The 'Comedy Avengers' are a coalition of Devon based stand up comedians who are hosting free shows across the South West under including this monthly show at The Hole in the Wall on the second Tuesday of every month.
The same comics appear at each show but will always perform a brand new set so returning audience members will always get a different show.
The comics, who perform nationwide on the professional circuit and have won a number of awards between them, offer a variety of styles including props, one liners and musical comedy as well as straightforward stand up.
This month's show will be MC'd by Exeter's own Marcus Gill. A self confessed nerd Marcus tackles the subject of life as a man in his late twenties living at home with his nan and spending more time playing World of Warcraft and Dungeons and Dragons than he does living in the real world. The 'Dice Wizard' will host the night, chat tot he crowd and share his own unique take on the world.
Completing the line up will be the rest of the Avengers crowd Luke Honnoraty, Sandi Smith, Louis Burgess, Tom Glover, David Arnold, Richard James, Alf and Frankie Dore.
As well as the Exeter gig there also monthly shows in Plymouth, Teignmouth and slipping across the border into Taunton. The regular members of this group, will write brand new, original material for each of the monthly shows and perform for the first time at these gigs.
These nights will be free entry in order to give Devon audiences a cheap night out full of laughter and an opportunity for the acts to develop their sets in front of a local crowd.
As well as the regular Avengers, there will be occasional guest performers in order to encourage fellow new talent and to help the burgeoning South West comedy scene develop, a scene already full of many promising new acts.
The Avengers will be performing Hole in the Wall this Tuesday, January 10th at 8pm and then every second Tuesday of the month in 2017. To see more upcoming show
