SILVERTON has a timely mystery to solve, a 150-year case involving clocks, treachery, bungling police and mad-cap inventions!
The Victorian steampunk drama promises an alarming tale as Her Majesty’s finest investigators pit themselves against cunning criminals hell bent on deceit and fraud.
Silverton’s players, the Silverton Luvvies, have sharpened their senses in the countdown to the challenge of a new mystery – The Curious Case of the Clockmaker’s Daughter.
The play, as with all of the Silverton Luvvie’s productions, is an original work written by director Portia Smith and cast members and promises plenty of action, laughs and unexpected twists.
“This year we have gone back to Victorian times to create a fast-paced tale of intrigue and mystery,” said Portia Smith, director of the Luvvies. “The stage and costumes will be spectacular and authentic, while our play is a story of mischief and mayhem as the police struggle to solve a mysterious case. Think Ripper Street meets the Pink Panther!”
The play is suitable for families, but with villains and dastardly folk about we can’t vouch for the characters’ behaviour!
Tickets are £5 per adult and £3 per child. Curtain is up at 7.30, and the play runs for about 1.5 hours (including intervals). Tickets are available from Silverton Spar, by calling Carrie Martin on 01392 860 670 and there will be limited tickets available on the door. There is also a bar for pre and during show drinks.
