Leading ear and eye experts launch latest Health Hub in Dawlish
Barton Surgery in Dawlish is today announcing the opening of a new Health Hub, acting as a centre of excellence which will provide additional services for patients, directly next to the practise.
Located in the old Lloyds Pharmacy building, the Health Hub will be a collaboration of hearing specialists Chime, an established NHS partner and private audiometrist, optometrist’s Barton Eyecare and Exeter Physic.
The three organisations will provide patients with expert medical advice and a service to people in the local area, as well as a multi-discipline approach to improve patient outcomes, working closely with the doctors of Barton Surgery.
Chime Hearing is a NHS partner and social enterprise, which helps hearing impaired patients in the local area. The not-for-profit organisation provides leading assistive devices designed to work seamlessly with state-of-the-art technology, to help people with hearing difficulties. They are also part of the Veteran’s Hearing Fund – providing government funded support to veterans who acquired hearing loss during Service and offer audiology services at 15 other locations across Devon.
Jonathan Parsons, Managing Director of Chime Hearing, says, “We are thrilled to be opening a Chime Hearing Centre at Barton Surgery in Dawlish, South Devon. Many people suffering from the onset of hearing loss tend to put off addressing the issue until it is severely impeding their day-to-day lives. With such fantastic discreet hearing aids and advanced technology, we encourage people to book a consultation sooner rather than later.”
Steve McCluskey, Partner Optometrist at Barton Eyecare, says, “We are thrilled to be opening Barton Eyecare in Dawlish, working with Chime and Exeter Physio to create The Health Hub for the locality.
“Barton Eyecare will be offering full NHS and private optometry, spectacle and contact lens services to the residents of Dawlish and beyond, providing a patient focused approach. Barton Eyecare will provide clinically excellent, personal and reasonably priced eye care to patients.”
Antony Clements, GP Partner at Barton Surgery, says, “Ever since we facilitated the building of our superb community hospital, it has been a vision to provide a fully functioning Health Hub and with these additions, we can be proud to have a fully integrated, modern, advanced, one-stop facility.
“The opening of The Health Hub means we are providing patients with high quality services right on our doorstep, which will reduce the stress, hassle and waiting time for patients, yet still provide the same level of expertise and care.
“The development has been a huge success and we are looking forward to welcoming patients to The Health Hub. We hope all in the local area will benefit greatly from the facilities.”
The Health Hub will open in early August 2017, with a launch event for patients, local businesses and more to attend on Saturday 5th August 2017.
