A charity quiz has helped raise over £1,500 for WESC Foundation, a specialist centre for visual impairment located on Topsham Road, Exeter.

The event held at the school’s campus was sponsored by Devon-based accountancy firm, Thomas Westcott, and saw over twenty teams battle it out for the top spot, with The Princesshay Pirates being crowned as overall winners, and The Wonders of the University from Exeter University taking second place.

Caroline Burkie, Fundraising and PR Manager for the charity, comments: “We were really pleased our second quiz event was so well supported and special thanks must go to The Magdalen Chapter for donating the winning prize of afternoon tea at their gorgeous venue, and also to Mercedes-Benz of Exeter for donating an SLK for a weekend as the top raffle prize.

We will be using the funds raised on the night to provide a safe, fun and exciting area for the children to play in in the shape of a large pirate ship climbing frame.”
