Actually he saved petrol and never left!!  With his unique combination of comedy, absolute hatred, and card tricks, every moment is guaranteed to make you feel better about YOURSELF as he bangs on about some pish or other. Last week it was something about cutting up eyeballs for baby boxes?? This week it could be about the situation in Sandi Toksvig. One thing's for sure.. Whatever he says, it will be ripped off. Oktoberfest

Informal Concert: Vauxhall Male Voice Choir
Saturday, 1pm, Exeter Cathedral
This accomplished Luton-based choir will sing a broad cross-section of items including Welsh hymn tunes, songs from the shows, light operatic choruses, spirituals, and traditional male voice choir standards. The programme will include Pilgrims' Chorus from Tannhäuser, Nessun Dorma from Turandot and Hallelujah Chorus from Handel's Messiah. Entry to this recital is included in the Cathedral admission charge

A Musical Thanksgiving

Willie and the Bandits

Essentially Wille and the Bandits is a classic blues rock three piece much in the vein of Cream or The Jimi Hendrix experience. But in a similar way to how these bands pushed the genre in their time, Wille and the Bandits try to take their sound beyond what is expected of such a traditional line up. Killerton Cider and Apple Festival

WOW Women of the World Festival
Saturday & Sunday, Exeter
WOW celebrates women and girls, and looks at the obstacles that stop them from achieving their potential. It’s a festival for women, and anyone who knows a woman. Originating at the Southbank Centre in London in 2010, the festival has taken place in 20 cities across five continents. Now it’s in Exeter for the first time with a weekend of debate, talks, music, activism, mentoring, pop ups and performance at cultural venues across the city. A Buddhist Talk on Wisdom & Compassion
Saturday, 2pm, Exeter Community Centre, 17 St David's Hill, Exeter
Exeter Diamond Way Buddhist Centre invite you to a Buddhist talk entitled "Wisdom & Compassion in Buddhism" with Lena Leonteva. There will be  time for a Q&A after the talk and a short meditation for those who wish to participate. The talk requires no previous knowledge experience of Buddhism or the Buddhist practice and all are welcome to attend. Entrance on the door, cost £6 / £3 concession

Exeter Walk for blood cancer research

This is a beautiful ten-mile walk along the Exe Estuary Trail starting at Exeter Quay and finishing at Exmouth. The walk is flat and mainly on public footpaths or cycling trails and so it is ideal for families and a range of abilities. www.bloodwise.org.uk/exeter-walk 

Great West Run

Dead On Arrival 
Devon Guild of Craftsmen, Riverside Mill, Bovey Tracey
Showing national and international artist/makers whose practice involves the use of ethically-sourced, human or animal remains. Work includes jewellery, sculpture, textiles, taxidermy and photography, alongside historical artefacts lent by Plymouth Council Arts and Heritage, illustrating how artists are influenced by materials historically used to decorate and adorn. Exeter Contemporary Open
Exeter Phoenix
An annual, open submission exhibition that presents work from some of the most exciting emerging and established artists from across the UK and beyond. The exhibition is a valuable platform which aims to reflect a variety of current themes and concerns in contemporary art practice. Open 10am-5.30pm daily. Free.

Exeter’s Fine Art Collection: Modern
RAMM, Queen Street, Exeter
The exhibition includes two works by the British Pop Art movement artist Brian Rice, gifted through the Art Fund and on display for the first time.This diverse selection features Barbara Hepworth’s remarkable figurative drawing Preparation, Leighton Hall Woolatt’s Post Eleven Speaking and Patrick Heron’s Two Vermilions, Green and Purple in Red.
