Princesshay announces festive line-up of Christmas events
Princesshay is marking its 10th Christmas in Exeter creating a truly festive atmosphere with Christmas lights, live festive performances and even granting Christmas wishes.
The festivities will start in Princesshay Square on Thursday 16th November from 4pm – 7.30pm, as Exeter BID presents the annual Christmas Lights Switch On and officially begin the Christmas countdown. The evening’s line-up includes a performance of traditional carols from a local school, followed by live music and festive entertainment. Alongside the Christmas lights, visitors can see Princesshay’s very own Polar Bears which were named last year as Hope and Clarence.
The event marks the launch of the season’s late night shopping evenings with shops open until 9pm each Thursday until Thursday 21st December. With support from Visit Exeter, late night shoppers can enjoy two magnificent live performances in Princesshay square on Thursday 30th November and Thursday 7th December. Arco, a spectacular show of acrobatics performed from a 12m high inflated arch, will entertain visitors with 15 minute performances starting at 5pm, 6pm and 7pm on Thursday 30th November. High impact drummers with kaleidoscopic lighting, Spark, are set to mesmerise visitors with 30 minute shows in Princesshay on Thursday 7th December starting at 5pm, 6pm and 7pm.

This year Princesshay is launching a brand new festive competition on Monday 6th November, to make one lucky person’s dream come true. Shoppers can enter by making a ‘wish’ for their ultimate Christmas present from Princesshay. The winner will have their chosen gift given to them by Princesshay (Ts and Cs apply). More details will be shared on Princesshay’s social channels on Monday 6th November.
The historic Roman Walk will feature a special Charity run Christmas Tree Festival, officially opened by the Lord Mayor on Friday 17th November at 5pm. The Christmas Tree Festival will include thirty-five trees decorated by various charities and will stay in place until Christmas Eve.
Princesshay’s Charity of the Year, Children’s Hospice South West, will be hosting a Charity Car Raffle until Saturday 23rd December giving one lucky person the chance to win a brand new Toyota C-HR. Tickets are £2 and every penny will help to improve the lives of young people in the South West.
Early December will also see the opening of Lloyd’s Lounge, a cosy new venue where visitors can enjoy a light bite or a festive drink.
