Barratt Homes appoints new managing director to spearhead growth in the south west
Barratt Developments, which includes Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes has appointed Huw Llewellyn as managing director of its Exeter-based division.
Huw moves to the five star developer from roles in Wales which included technical director with Barratt Developments and spells with two other housebuilders.
He said he was delighted to be joining at such an interesting time for the division which this year celebrates its 20th anniversary.
“The south west is a strong area for Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes with high demand for quality homes and we continue to invest in land for future development,” said Huw.
The Exeter-based division includes developments in Devon and Cornwall including Minerva in Exeter, Tarka Ridge in Barnstable and Penndrumm Fields in Looe.
His appointment follows Barratt’s recent half year results with increased sales and profits and confidence of delivering a good financial and operational performance in the full year.
“Strong trading is being driven by good customer demand for our high quality new homes and an attractive lending environment together with the continued popularity of Help to Buy,” said Huw.
In the last year Barratt Developments has built almost 550 homes in the region and brought more than £27 million to communities where it is building new homes.
The division supported more than 1,400 jobs directly and through its contractors and suppliers and employed 21 new graduates, trainees and apprentices.
